The Oaks of Lexington Update

Hi! I just wanted to show you the progess on this painting. I know you're supposed to paint dark-> light with oils, but I had a lot of orange paint leftover and didn't want to waste it. As it turns out the orange on the red background makes the perfect GREEN for leaves. Yes, I said green. Who knew?

The Oaks of Lexington

This is a painting I'm working on, also for the SEWE. It's from a photo I took of a gorgeous old Oak tree inside the new neighborhood, the Oaks of Lexington. Enjoy!

Commission that fell through

This painting was commissioned and at the last minute, the client baled because he did not have the money. Too bad. It is a great little painting. I'll be selling this one in a gallery. I'll tell you which one soon, once I get all the paintings designated to the right galleries over the next month.

Recently Finished!

Being from South Carolina, I just love marsh and low-country scenes. Originally I was going to put a heron in the picture, but I fell in love with it's calming neutral colors and decided to leave it as is. I'm glad I did.
